PM Modi Unveils Mission Amrit: A Major Push for Urban Water and Sewage Management

Under Mission Amrit Water and sewage treatment plants will be installed in various cities as part of this aim. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled Mission Amrit, the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’s next phase.

PM Modi declared that various communities will receive water and sewage treatment plants under Mission Amrit in an effort to make cities cleaner on the tenth anniversary of his flagship project.

In addition to praising the nation’s citizens for their support, PM Modi declared that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan had been a success. He also states that, There were 27 lakh programmes held thorugh Seva Parikram, crores of people participated in it in the last 15 days.

He urged the local government to send a team to every district, panchayat, and zilla to clean every lake and street. In order to preserve clean lakes and roadways, Modi additionally pushed for cleanliness contests.

He also expressed gratitude to everyone for adopting paper and cloth bags in an effort to decrease down on single-use plastic. Additionally, he expressed his gratitude that the public did not object to the decision by claiming that jobs would be lost.

Speaking about the advantages of the Swachh Bharat Mission, Modi stated that although 60% of people in the nation used to urinate outside ten years ago, his government has built 12 crore toilets.

Siding the Congress, he claimed that although women, Dalits, and the impoverished generally lived in dirt, it was the prime minister’s responsibility to improve the lot of people. PM Modi also stated that Women were not allowed to urinate throughout the day. They have to leave after sundown or before morning, regardless of the weather.

According to a research, 90% of women felt safer in their houses because they had access to bathrooms, he claimed. He continued by saying that open defecation was a big barrier to the country’s growth and that illnesses and diseases were a common occurrence as a result. The prime minister Modi declared, “This challenge made the Swachh Bharat Mission possible.”

According to Modi, the number of girls dropping out of school has also decreased after restrooms were installed.
The prime minister discussed the necessity to maintain the goal and mentioned that it has also resulted in employment creation across other industries. Modi stated that they have 5,000 startups in the cleanliness sector and several women have started working as labours because of access to toilets.

He stated that its methodology has been used as a model for community-driven programs and highlighted its “amazing” influence on people’s lives, particularly that of women and the impoverished. He also stated, “The mission’s success is a testament to India’s ability to drive meaningful change on a massive scale.”

Additionally, actress Alia Bhatt posted a video message. In the clip, the “Jigra” actor stated, “Swachh Bharat mission, spearheaded by Prime Minister @narendramodi marks a significant step towards realizing Gandhiji’s dream of a clean and self-reliant India, let’s all come together and take this mission to new heights and make our country, even more beautiful.”

Ajay Banga: Under Modi’s “visionary” leadership, the initiative has greatly improved sanitation, transforming India. Banga, the president of the World Bank, said this is a wonderful milestone.

Masatsugu Asakawa, president of the Asian Development Bank, praised Modi for leading the Mission and called it a “transformational campaign.” The Asian Development Bank is honored to have collaborated with India on this innovative project from the outset.

Ratan Tata, chairman of Tata Trusts, praised Modi on the cleanliness campaign’s success and stated that it had benefited millions of people, particularly in rural India.

Actor Saif Ali Khan thanked Prime Minister Modi for expressing “commitment and strong leadership” in transforming the Swachh Bharat initiative into a national movement in a video greeting posted on Instagram to his fans.
