How Two major railway projects works 

He also said “The line will run through Padampur to connect the most significant areas. The famous Nrusinghanath Temple in the Bargarh district, the center of Sambalpuri handloom, and the rice bowl of India would all be connected by it.

If people wants to travel from the Sambalpur or Angul region to the Raipur region, they must travel through Titlagarh’s busy freight route. There will be an additional route provided via the Bargarh Road-Nuapada new line. It will also operate as an alternative route for the congested Jharsuguda-Bilaspur-Raipur train line.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that “All steel plants in the area are going for huge expansion. This line will be vital for moving finished steel from these steel plants to north India. Coal from Angul district will be transported towards the Raipur region for various industries. This line will reduce the logistic cost of domestic coal transport by reducing distance”

Transporting iron ore from Daitary and Gandamardhan to the steel plants in the Raipur area will be made possible in large part by this line.It will load 6.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of coal, 3 MTPA of iron ore, 4.5 MTPA of steel, 0.5 MTPA of cement, 0.5 MTPA of rice, and other items, based on the estimated freight volume.

These two major railway projects would link a number of tourist destinations in the districts of Bargarh and Nuapada. Among these are Sunabeda, Debrigarh Sanctuary, and Nrusinghanath Temple. During the most recent general elections and the by-election for the Padampur assembly seat in 2022, the Bargarh Road-Nuapada new line project was a key demand.

Suresh Pujari,The Revenue Minister said that they will provide all support, including land for These two major railway projects. Here will not be delayed in the land acquisition process. They will help the Railways to complete the projects in time.

Bargarh MP Pradip Purohit said that was a gift for western Odisha for upcoming Nuakhai festival celebration in this area on September 8. It was our long-pending demand. This line will not only boost economic activities but also provide connectivity to tourist places.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also said the Sardega to Bhalumuda double line project will boost social and cultural ties between the tribals of Odisha’s Sundargarh district and Raigarh district. This 37 km project will be constructed in three years with an estimated cost of Rs 1360 crore.

Sardega-Bhalumunda double line project:

  • Out of two Major Railway Projects, 37km of the project, 16km will be in Sundargarh district. This area of the district has a large tribal population. This project will boost the cultural and social relations between these border districts.
  • Currently, there is no bus service between Sardega to Bhalumuda, and people rely on two wheelers and four wheelers.
  • It will have an existing station (Sardega) and one new station Mundharkhet in Odisha. The project will require140.7 hectares of land from Odisha. Deadline is three years.

Bargarh Road-Nuapada new line project

  • Bargarh Road to Nuapada new line project is about to Rs 2,926 crore. It will cover Bargarh and Nuapada districts of western part of Odisha.
  • It will reduce distance between Sambalpur and Raipur by 87km. The project will be completed in 5 years.
  • 2 existing stations (Bargarh and Nuapada) and 11 new stations (Sarsara, Dumerpali, Bijepur Road,Badipali, Dhauramunda, Padampur, Bhagatpur, Majhipali, Paikmal Road, Bartunda, Anlajuba will be established.The 138km line will have 89 major bridges, 178 minor waterway bridges and 91 rail flyovers and underbridges.
  • For the project, 924.6 hectares of land will be required. Out of which, 848.4 hectares in Bargarh district and 76.1hectares in Nuapada district.

Benefits of Two major railway projects :

  • Tourism: The new line will provide connectivity to tourist places like goddess Patharasini of Arjunda, BoudhBihar of Ganiapali, Baseikela Gada, Papanga Mountain and Budharaja, Giri Gobardhan of Dekulba, Bindhyabasini of Sankrida, Debrigarh Sanctuary on the bank of Hirakud reservoir and Nrusinghanath Temple at Paikmal from Bargarh district and Sunabeda, Saliha, Upkaganga, Patalganga, Patora and Pataleswar Temple and Budhikomnafrom Nuapada district.
  • Economic Activity: Several new coal blocks are being auctioned in Angul district. Coal will move through thisrail line towards Raipur region for various industries. This line will reduce the logistic cost of domestic coal transport by reducing distance. This line will be vital in moving iron ore from Daitary, Gandamardhan to steel industries in Raipur region.
