A 42-year-old man, who worked as an area manager for Bajaj Finance, committed suicide in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. Tarun Saxena stated in a note that his bosses had been harassing him to fulfill his targets for the past two months, threatening him with salary reductions. Bajaj Finance has not yet responded to the allegations.

The housekeeper found Tarun dead this morning. He had confined his wife and two children in a different room. His parents, wife Megha, and children Yatharth and Pihu all are living together.
Tarun stated in a five-page letter to his wife claiming he was extremely stressed since he was unable to reach targets despite his best efforts. Tarun was responsible with collecting EMIs on Bajaj Finance loans in his area, but he was falling short of his targets due to a number of reasons. He also expressed concern that he may lose his job. He said that his seniors frequently humiliated him. He was quite concerned about his future. He had lost the ability to think. At last he wrote “I am going.”

Tarun states that he and other staff members of Bajaj Finance were forced to pay for EMIs they could not recover in their area. He said that he had constantly highlighted the issues around recovery with his elders, but they were unwilling to listen. He had not slept for 45 days. He had barely eaten. He was under a lot of stress. Senior bosses of Bajaj Finance are pressuring him to reach targets at all costs or resign.
In his letter, Tarun also expressed his regret to his family and that he had paid his kids’ tuition till the end of the year.
He also stated “You all look after Yatharth, Pihu, and Megha. I have never asked for anything before, but I’m doing it now, Mama and Papa. Please get a second floor constructed so that my family can stay comfortably.”
He advised his children to study well and take care of their mother. He requested his family to see to it that his family received the insurance proceeds. In addition, he mentioned his seniors and requested that his family file a police report against them. “They are responsible for my decision.”
Tarun’s cousin Gaurav Saxena, who lives close, said he was being urged to enhance the recovery of loans. During a 6 a.m. video confrence meeting today, his seniors of Bajaj Finance company increased the mental stress. They argued he should be fired because he is unable to work. In his suicide note, he listed them.
According to senior police official Vinod Kumar Gautam, the post-mortem note is on its way. According to the suicide note, he felt pressure from his seniors of Bajaj Finance company over the targets. Police official will act upon receiving a complaint from the family.
